The Kentucky River

Black background with white river networks with a marker for High Bridge Park and text 'weep no more my lady

Description: The universe is full of patterns: fractals contain fractals which contain fractals. This is why river networks look like red blood cells, which inspires this work.

This map, made from real geospatial data, is situated in Jessamine County, Kentucky, where I grew up playing in creeks and looking out at the Kentucky River from High Bridge Park. The words “weep no more my lady” are taken from Kentucky’s state song.
